Sustainability
As a Partner with a global sustainability consultancy, direct experience supporting organisations in developing decarbonisation and market entry strategies as well as supporting Australian State and Commonwealth government agencies with policy advisory. Key regional support for multiple hydrogen strategy and opportunity assessments across the Asia Pacific region.
General Management
Direct experience as Managing Director, accountable for full Profit and Loss and business performance for an Industrial gas business with turnover of ~NZ$40m.
As Industrial Director in Japan, accountable for budgeting and financial management of around $550m AUD in annual spend.
Finance Management
Direct experience as Finance Manager/ CFO, accountable for generation of budgets, forecasts and strategic plans for business activities and capital investments. Linked operational and financial metrics for granular view of business performance, with KPI's that allowed for informed decision making. Accountable for managing annual external independent audit processes and sign off.
Industrial Operations
Broad industrial experience in mineral and chemical processing including operational leadership positions overseeing:
- Nickel flash smelting and refining
- Boiler and Steam Turbine operations for power generation
- Metallurgical sulphuric acid production
- Industrial and medical gas production of gaseous and cryogenic oxygen, nitrogen, argon and carbon dioxide
- High pressure gas cylinder packaging of medical, industrial and scientific gases, including acetylene production and dry ice manufacturing
- Industrial and medical gas distribution, including supervising bulk cryogenic liquid distribution fleets for oxygen, nitrogen, argon and carbon dioxide, packaged (cylinder) gases and bulk hydrogen and helium tube trailers
Industrial Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance
Managed day to day industrial risk across mineral and chemical processing facilities, including:
- Compliance with applicable internal business standards and procedures, as well as local, state and federal regulations
- Direct supervision of sites classified as Major Hazard Facilities, including management of applicable Safety Cases and regulatory compliance
- Management of production and distribution activities to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration and New Zealand Medsafe regulators for medical products
- Direct supervision of unplanned events and incidents and hands on crisis management response
